Windows Hardware Drivers

Important: Our driver updates are packaged in self-extracting archive files (EXE). This is a special program that is executed to create a new driver diskette. After downloading the file, follow these directions:

- Insert an empty, formatted diskette into drive A

- click on the Windows Start menu and select "Run..."
A dialog box will appear with an "Open: " prompt

    - Type: [folder]\[filename] <enter>
       where [folder] is the location of the download
       and [filename] is the name of the driver update EXE file

- The driver files will be copied to the floppy diskette.

To install the new driver, follow the instructions in the 'README' file.
SPECIAL NOTE: if you have 2 or more cards installed in your PC, you'll need to take some special steps to update the drivers. Again, please review the README instructions.

Windows 95/98/ME	WavePRO Family Version: 4.5 Date: 27 June 2000 Filename: wpdrv45.exe This driver supports the Wave/824, Wave/496, and Wave/424.	Some new features and bug fixes that have been added include: Driver supports the new Wave/496. Windows 95/98/ME	Wave/4 Version: 3.30 Date: 1 February 1998 Filename: w4drv330.exe	If you have 2 Wave/4 cards in your system, there are some special steps to update the driver that are included in the read me file.
Windows NT 4.0/2000	Wave/824 Version 1.09 Date: 13 April 2000 Filename:wpnt109.exe	This NT driver works with both Windows 2000 Professional and NT 4.0. Important: Click here to read updated installation instructions before installing this driver. Some new features and bug fixes that have been added include: Driver now works with Windows 2000 (duh). Enumeration has been changed to properly display the audio channels in the correct order (1+2, 3+4, 5+6, 7+8). NOTE: All WavePRO NT drivers support dual processor machines under Windows NT 4.0 only, and will not load on dual processor machines running Windows 2000. A workaround for this is explained here.
	Wave/496 Version 1.10 Date: 30 June 2000 Filename:nt496110.exe	This is the first release of the NT 4.0/2000 driver for the Wave/496. Installation and troubleshooting information can be found in the included file '496NTRME.rtf'.
	Wave/424 Version 1.10 Date: 30 June 2000 Filename:nt424110.exe	This NT driver works with both Windows 2000 Professional and NT 4.0. Some new features and bug fixes that have been added include: Fixed an issue that could cause the driver not to load in Windows 2000. Fixed an issue that could cause static noise on Channels 1+2 with certain Wave/424 cards. Installation and troubleshooting information can be found in the included file '424NTRME.rtf'
	Wave/4 Version 1.10 Date: 15 September 1998 Filename: w4ntdv11.exe	This driver does NOT support having 2 Wave/4 cards installed in a PC.

Macintosh Hardware Drivers
Important stuff: These Macintosh drivers are packaged in an Installer and compressed in HQX format. You will need StuffIt Expander to unstuff the installer. You may download it from: http://www.aladdinsys.com/ If downloading this Mac driver with a Windows PC: RIGHT CLICK on the download Link, and choose SAVE AS... Make sure you save the file with a .hqx extension, NOT .txt Please also note also that there are separate drivers for each of the WavePRO cards. Each driver package includes both ASIO Audio support and OMS/MIDI support. Please see the enclosed README file for more/updated information.

Clean-Remove Utility for WavePRO drivers under Win95/98
Running this before installing your new drivers will ensure an absolute 'clean install' of the new drivers.
	NOTE: Be sure to have your new Wave PRO drivers available either on floppy disk, or in a known location on your hard drive before running this program. This utility only runs on Win 95 and 98 (Windows ME/NT/2000 not supported).
MIDI Loopback Test Program
This application will test the MIDI functionality of your WavePRO card.
EPROM Update for WavePRO
This application updates the WavePRO cards to the latest EPROM version for compatibility with S/PDIF and ADAT daughtercards.
